Cumberland County Schools uses a computer-based vehicle routing and scheduling system called TIMS. This system allows us to route our buses safely and efficiently. The TIMS staff works closely with our bus supervisors, bus drivers, and other school personnel to make the routes as accurate as possible. Road maps of Cumberland County are used to help determine the bus routes. These maps are computerized, and hazardous areas are designated, which enables the TIMS staff to work with the routes daily and to update them as changes occur. As the routes are updated, copies are printed and distributed to the drivers and to the school contacts for their use. The TIMS system is administrated by technical staff in Raleigh. The team at NCSU-ITRE works closely with our local TIMS staff to keep the system up-to-date. 

Our TIMS staff is divided into Attendance Areas. 

The student's Attendance Area is the High School the student attends or will attend.
