Red Ribbon Week

It serves as a means for encouraging communities, schools, and individuals to make a commitment to drug prevention and education and a personal commitment to live drug free lives with the goal of creating a drug free America.
Stoney Point is celebrating Red Ribbon Week October 22-26. Each day of that week students are encouraged to participate by wearing the appropriate items for that particular day. Read more

        
Fall Festival

FallOur Annual Fall Festival is coming up!   We will hold our Fall Festival from  5:30-7:30 on October 19th in the STPES gym.  Admission is FREE for this fun family event.  We are asking that parents bring a non perishable food item to support local families who were affected by Hurricane Florence.  There will also be a basket raffle, games, face painting, snack concessions, spirit stick sales (including a NEW custom spirit stick), and spirit wear sales.  This is NOT a drop off event.  Students must be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Come join the fun!

        
Hurricane Florence Food & Clothing Drive

Donation BoxIn an effort to help Stoney Point families affected by the Hurricane Florence, we are currently accepting donations for non- perishable food items and boys and girls clothing, socks, and underwear in sizes 5-10. Please drop items off to your child’s teacher.
If you are in need of food and/or clothing, and have been impacted or displaced by the storm, please stop by our food/clothing pantry between 8-3 and pick up the items you need. It will be located in the front office area and bags will be provided.

Community Donation Drive

School SuppliesThis year the Anti-Bullying Task Force chose to incorporate a community element by having each school collect designated items based on attendance districts.  The school with the most “Random Acts of Kindness” will be determined as winners by the following categories: Level (Elementary, Middle, High) and Overall. Each School will collect the designated items during the month of October. The collection dates will run from October 1, 2018 – October 24 2018. The designated items for the Jack Britt School District are 5X7 and 8X10 canvases and paint brushes. Please contact your child’s school for more information.

        
Project Kindness 2018 Presents: CCS Got Talent

CCS Got Talent is a talent show and art contest for our CCS students and employees to demonstrate what Kindess means to them. Please encourage those you know to apply and represent your school!

When: Tuesday, October 30, 2018, 6:00 pm – 9:30 pm
Auditions: October 4th, 11th, 18th, 2018,  4:00 pm – 7:00 pm
Semi-Finals (if applicable): October 22, 2018
Dress Rehearsal: October 29, 2018 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm

Where: The Talent Show will be held at Jack Britt High School. Rehearsals will be held at the Education Resource Center.

Please contact your child’s school for more information and a copy of the Talent Show and Art Show Rules.

Book Fair

Girl Picking Book of Shelf

You are invited to our Scholastic Book Fair, a reading event packed with excitement for students and families.  The fair will be located in the Media Center and will start Wednesday, October 3rd and end Wednesday, October 10th.  It will be open daily from 7:30am– 2:10pm. However, the fair will close early on the last day, Oct 10, at 11:05am. Each class has been assigned a day and time to visit the Book Fair. You are encouraged to come with your child to select books during that time. The fair hosts a large selection of age appropriate books as well as other items such as puzzles, kits, educational toys, and stationery items.

We will be hosting a special Family Night event on Thursday, October 4th.  The fair will be open that night from 5:30 pm to 7:00 pm. During this time, you will be able to browse the fair with your child.  We hope to see you there.

Please email janetquant@ccs.k12.nc.us if you are interested in volunteering at the book fair.  Available time slots are 7:15-9:309:30-12:00, and 12:00-2:30

Zaxby's Chicken FingersTuesday, October 30th, is Stoney Point Spirit Night at Zaxby’s in Hope Mills. Enjoy a delicous sandwich or salad and remember to tell them that you are there to support Stoney Point Elementary. Part of the profits will go to the Stoney Point PTA.
